Seeking structures in Pocahontas County!

If you own, or know of a log structure in Pocahontas County that needs to be dated or could be useful to the Historic Timbers Project, please tell us about it via the Contact Form, or email Kristen de Graauw at kkdegraauw@mix.wvu.edu.

Here's our wish list:
1) Age: pre-1820 or 1840-1870 (to the best of your knowledge, historical documentation, oral history)
2) Type: anything that is not a barn (cabin, house, smokehouse, mill, cabin masquerading as a barn, etc.). I repeat, no more barns please!

To learn more about what types of structures qualify for tree-ring dating, please visit our FAQ page.

If you know of a structure that meets these criteria, please let us know! We need 7 more structures in Pocahontas County by spring 2016.

If your structure is chosen to be included in the Historic Timbers Project, we offer you:
1) free tree-ring dating!
2) final technical report of our investigation
3) an opportunity to hang out with the HTP!

Thanks Pocahontas County. We look forward to working with you!
